Maytag laundry pairs are built to take a beating, which is exactly why the moving parts wear before the electronics do. Most of what we replace here is mechanical.

Error codes
The two-letter codes on a Maytag are cycle status rather than failures. Ld means the drain is slow, not broken, and Sd means there is too much detergent in the drum — neither is a repair.
Two of these are not faults at all. They are marked.
A code narrows the search — it does not price the job. We confirm the fault with the appliance in front of us before quoting anything.

Replaced the lid lock assembly and reset the control, then checked the strike alignment so it would not happen again.
